Europeans and Native Americans made good use of yellow dock root internal and external as a blood purifier, mild laxative, hepatic and tonic. It was commonly used in emoillients, salves and poultices to relieve a variety of skin conditions, including itchy rashes and psoriasis. During medieval times, yellow dock was used to heal blisters, burns, scalds, and skin rashes.
